Amazing place with its free wi-fi, cozy bar/lounge area, comfortable tv, and an electric kettle. I still remember how the staff helped with currency tips during my first stay. Highly recommend! I'm coming back for Christmas.

My stay was very good for 5 nights. It had excellent and unbeatable location close to the west coast of Tasmania. It also was in a beautiful setting.
The staff were very unfriendly, didn't expect that coming.

Everything was simply perfect. That was lovely welcoming hotel set in downstairs lounge area, near People's Park as well as the stunning harbour. The room was spotless, luxurious and complete with the bedroom and lovely view and sofas. The bar served good choice of meals for breakfast.

Had a fabulous time enjoying warm chats by the open fire with cocktails. The breakfast was generous, and the historical charm is really something. Just watch for parking issues at peak times! 😊

Very nice manor house in good location in Strahan. Rooms were very well appointed with attention to detail
Felt that the breakfast ( continental only) was very minimal compared with what we expect as choice for a continental breakfast. Also the lady operating in the breakfast/dining room, made no attempt at any connection with the guests and the place then seemed tolack any atmosphere.

A cozy stay by the fireplace
The historic charm of Franklin Manor stands out, especially with the inviting warmth of the fireplace. Breakfast was a good experience, with excellent coffee and a charming selection of pastries.
Some aspects need attention. The shower pressure was quite low and the bathroom could use a makeover. The heating in common areas could be improved during cold nights.

Nice place to stay in Strahan, if compared to other hotels. The breakfast we ordered was absolutely fantastic with hot items and bacon, as for instance.

The gardens and by Building are pleasant.
The customer service was appalling, as was the breakfast. We were so disappointed that an establishment with so much potential was neglected. We look for venues for tour groups and could not use this venue as is.

The room was comfortable and bathroom well provided. Position, gardens, and old house by sea gave it a good start.instructions on how to get to room arriving after 6pm when we rung were clear and well executed. Small town is excellent and two clear days for bay and railway are really required to get best out of it. We were moving on to cradle mountain which is only two hours away so missed these.
Attitude of Staff Member on duty in morning was just functional. Milk for hot drinks left in room was half that usually provided.Room was quite cold but there was heating but we were unable to put it on. Breakfast was minimal continental and replenishments had to be asked for.

Franklin Manor has amazing historic charm, but the rooms could really use an update.

Exceptionally comfortable beds and tea and coffee, and a lounge. Early check-in, parking nearby.

The Franklin Manor is a beautiful place, well maintained building and manicured gardens. Our chosen room did not have a view, but the included breakfast made up for it. The Manor has all the trimmings of a bygone era, like drawing room, wine tasting room etc. The restaurant was not available this time of the year, but there are plenty nearby restaurants to choose from. The hostess made us feel welcome and looked after us like royalty.
no, nothing at all

It was cold- no heating. Breakfast provided was ordinary and not much provided. The one staff member we saw was disinterested. I asked about the wifi not working and she said it was s problem in the area, however looking at previous reviews today the wifi hasn't worked for ages. Upstairs floors creak loudly and if you are downstairs it is very noisey. Walls very thin and you can hear everything (and I mean everything). When we left, all guests receipts with their details were left in a pile on the front desk to go through. Very ordinary place.
